Older O.S. maps show an Independent Chapel, sometimes Calvinistic Chapel. Aerial views show that it hasn't survived, and its site lay along a courtyard once accessed from High Street - though Streetviews suggest that it now has a door blocking access. Nothing useful can be seen on Streetview. SE 6113 8398.

The Methodist Church on Ashdale Road was originally Wesleyan, and is dated 1901. A map of 1856 shows a predecessor on the same site. SE 6166 8391. © Bill Henderson. Another view, and two interiors - 1, 2, all © Gerard Charmley (2015). Link.

St. Mary (R.C.) on a side-road off high street. SE 6101 8407. © Bill Henderson. Link - dates it to 1894.
