St. Mary (R.C., built 1958, and dedicated 1998) on Devonshire Drive. Two interior views - 1, 2. SD 749 311. All © Mike Berrell (2016). The former Wesleyan Methodist Church on Barnes Square. Mike explains that the church proper (demolished "several decades ago") stood to the right. The congregation then met in the Sunday School (the present building, built 1854), but this too has now closed, and is up for sale. There is planning approval for the demolition of this building too. All © Mike Berrell (2014). A probable former chapel on Sydney Street. Old maps first show this as a Methodist Mission Room, later Methodist Sunday School. Maps also show that across the street stood Mercer Methodist Church, now replaced by housing. SD 751 304. © Mike Berrell (2014).
