The former Methodist Chapel on Lancaster Road was in use as a School of Dance and Theatre Arts when Elaine took her photo. Older O.S. maps label it as Wesleyan. SD 4979 7041. © Elaine Hindson. Added 2006 - the church is to be demolished for redevelopment (thanks to Peter Brophy). A Streetview shows that the site was redeveloped by 2009.

There used to be a Primitive Methodist Chapel on Mary Street, at SD 4971 7140. Pre-dating a map of 1891, it was still active in 1940, but had closed by 1947. Its site was seen by Streetview in 2009.
