The closed Memorial Baptist Chapel (1901) was built as a memorial to Queen Victoria. Gerard Charmley.

Strand Hall on Strand Street is mentioned here as having been built in the 1870's, originally as a market hall, and which "became a venue for eisteddfodau, prayer meetings, concerts and other events". SO 0408 5100. Karel Kuča (2007).
