This is the same building as, or stands on the site of, a Meeting Room (Brethren) shown on a map of 1906. SX 9246 5575. Fore Street Methodist Church. SX 9242 5603. © James Murray. Link. Grade II listed - dates it to 1816. The Methodists also have another building, designated as Christian Community Centre on Bank Lane. SX 9239 5606. © Dennis Harper (2018). Our Lady Star of the Sea (R.C.) on New Road and Lower Manor Road. Pevsner dates it to 1967. SX 9214 5600. © Dennis Harper (2018). Link. Older O.S. maps show a Primitive Methodist Chapel on Milton Street at SX 9183 5493. Dated to the 1880's here (see page 27), it survives - 2020 Streetview, where it's labelled as Higher Brixham Church. It doesn't seem to have a web presence. St. Mary the Virgin on Drew Street, as seen by Streetview (from Bakers Hill) in 2009. SX 9212 5512. Link1. Link2. Grade II* listed. St. Peter (the Fisherman's Church) - 2020 Streetview, on Mount Pleasant Road. In 2024 Google Streetview was saying "permanently closed". SX 9262 5609. Link has an interior photo. There's a former Salvation Army Church (2020 Streetview) on Bolton Street. This source says it was sold in 2024. It appears to be the same building as one shown on older maps as part of a school - perhaps the school chapel? SX 9245 5567. U.R.C. on New Road and Parkham Road. SX 9233 5601. © Dennis Harper (2018). Link. A former U.R.C. (2020 Streetview) stands on Bolton Street. Originally Congregational, its grade II listing dates it to 1843-5. SX 9242 5585. The 1" map of 1959 shows a place of worship on New Road, Parkham Hill, at SX 9195 5589. The second earliest Streetview (2009) shows that it had been sold by then. I haven't been able to discover what it was - can you advise?
