The former Ebenezer Wesleyan Methodist Chapel at Boot End. Coflein dates it to 1880, closing in 1972. It has since been demolished - and a new building built on the site (2022 Streetview). SJ 2087 7643. © Carl Hogan (2014).

Both Genuki and Coflein mention Our Lady of Lourdes (R.C.), but it no longer seems to be active. Coflein says only that it was built after 1900, with which O.S. maps agree. It stands or stood inland from St. Mary at SJ 2211 7498, but Streetview hasn't seen it, and I haven't been able to find a photo on-line.

St. Mary (1837-8, CiW) on High Street. SJ 2226 7509. © Carl Hogan (2014). Since the closure of St. Peter, St. Mary is now known as St. Mary and St. Peter. Link. Video. Grade II listed.

The site of the demolished Salem Independent Chapel, as seen by Streetview in 2023. It stood on the south side of High Street at SJ 2186 7540. Coflein dates it to a re-build in 1894 of a chapel originally of 1801, and demolished circa 1970 "to make way for th (sic) new chapel of 1998". This is misleading as this new chapel was evidently built on a different site.

The former Soar Chapel (built as Wesleyan), now in secular use. It stands at the junction of Holywell Street and Bryntirion Road. Coflein dates it to 1904, a re-build of a chapel of 1860. SJ 2247 7482. © Carl Hogan (2014). What may have been its predecessor is shown on a map of 1878, where it's labelled as Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan) on Holywell Street at SJ 2252 7481. It's site remains undeveloped - 2022 Streetview.

Tabernacle Calvinistic Methodist Chapel shows on the earliest available map of 1878, set back from the north side of High Street at SJ 2167 7568. It's dated by Coflein to a re-build in 1841 of a chapel originally of 1818, closing in 1971 to re-open later as a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. That too has closed, the signage having been removed at some point between 2011 and 2021 (Streetviews).

The former U.R.C. on High Street was for sale when the photo was taken. SJ 2164 7563. © Carl Hogan (2010). By 2021 it had become Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ), which was seen by Streetview in 2023. Link.
