Maentwrog, Gwynedd

Maentwrog on Wikipedia.

Capel Gilgal (Independent). Successor to an earlier Capel Gilgal on the other side of the road (circa SH 6672 4021), so named on the OS maps of 1889 and 1901. It is no longer extant. A date-stone of the earlier chapel, dated 1841, was incorporated in the newer building, which presumably dates from the early years of the twentieth century. SH 6662 4028. © Howard Richter (2013).

Capel Maentwrog Isaf (1873). Originally Calvinistic Methodist, and later Welsh Presbyterian. A floor appears to have been inserted, so this is probably a former chapel. The National Archives hold records for 1872-1976. SH 6656 4076. © Howard Richter (2013). Link.

The former Capel Seion (Wesleyan Methodist, 1906). SH 6648 4048. © Howard Richter (2013).

St. Twrog and St. Mary (CiW). A medieval church, re-built in 1896 on the site of the earlier building. SH 6642 4053. © Howard Richter (2013). Another view, and two of the interior - 1, 2, all © Tim Hollinghurst (2019). Link. Grade II listed.
