Baptist Church on High Street. Another view. SS 5178 4757. Both © Chris Kippin (2023). Link. Grade II listed, wherein it's dated to 1891.

Brookdale Church (Evangelical) on Brookdale Avenue. Patterned brickwork suggests a building date of 1971. An earlier church stands adjacent, and is connected to the new. It has a date-stone for 1938. SS 5141 4749. All © Chris Kippin (2023). Link.

The Lantern on High Street is a former Congregational Chapel, so named on a map of 1890. Its grade II listing, which dates it to 1818 (with later alterations) says it was also latterly U.R.C. SS 5164 4753. © Chris Kippin (2023).

Emmanuel Church (Methodist & U.R.C.) on Wilder Road, Market Street and Avenue Road. Its grade II listing dates it to 1899-1900. SS 5180 4773. © Chris Kippin (2023). Link.

Encounter Church on High Street and Marlborough Road. Presumably a fairly recent occupant of the building, old maps label it as Chapel, but all available maps fail to identify it more closely than that. SS 5161 4738. © Chris Kippin (2023). Link.

The original parish church of the town is Holy Trinity, on Church Hill. Another view, and the interior. SS 5141 4730. All © Chris Kippin (2023). Link. Grade I listed. For other listed features associated with the church, see here.

The cemetery on Marlborough Road has a Mortuary Chapel. SS 5228 4686. © Chris Kippin (2023). There's also a Mortuary Chapel in the cemetery to the south of the town, on Bicclescombe Park Road, at SS 5194 4581. It was seen by Streetview in 2019, and there's a photo on its grade II listing, wherein it's dated to 1855.

Our Lady, Star of the Sea (R.C.), on Runnacleave Road. It post-dates a map of 1890, and pre-dates one of 1904. SS 5164 4777. © Chris Kippin (2023). Link.

The former St. Nicholas' Chapel on Lantern Hill. Another view. SS 5252 4790. Both © Alex Parker. Link. Grade I listing.
