Baptist Church on New Street, as seen by Streetview in 2024. The chapel is dated 1829. SS 4928 1924. Link. Grade II listed.

The former Bible Christian Chapel on South Street. Its dates are uncertain, but it was built before the 1887 O.S. map was compiled, and the congregation seems to have left before 1904, as the map of that year bears no annotation for the building. SS 4944 1907. © Martin Richter (2018).

Church of the Holy Family (R.C.) on Gas Lane, as seen by Streetview in 2024. SS 4968 1942. Link.

A little further south along Chapel Street from the Congregational Chapel, old O.S. maps mark Chapel (Site of) at SS 4963 1899 - 2024 Streetview. This was the castle's Chapel of St. James. Link.

The former Congregational Chapel (2024 Streetview), on Castle Street, which is now used as a band room. A map of 1886 labels it as Independent Chapel, and it was still active into the second half of the last century. SS 4968 1905.

Old maps show a Mission Church on Calf Street. Its site now lies beneath the roadway of Morton Drive (2024 Streetview). SS 4997 1940.

The local cemetery has two Mortuary Chapels, CoE at the left, and Nonconformist at the right. Built before the map of 1887, they probably date to the establishment of the cemetery in 1855. Additional views of the CoE chapel (in the foreground), and of the Non-conformist. SS 4867 1942. This 1930 aerial view (scroll to the bottom) shows the chapels in the left foreground, and also, near the bottom right corner, the now-demolished chapel of the Torrington Union Workhouse, for which see below. St. Michael and All Angels. Much of the present church dates from 1651, the previous building having been "blowen up with powder", according to a plaque. More about this in the grade II* listing. SS 4951 1920. © Graeme Harvey (2011). Link.

Torrington Methodist Church on Mill Street was built as Wesleyan. The date-stone for 1832 is rather handsome. SS 4934 1907. © Martin Richter (2018). Link. Some details regarding the organ here. Grade II listed.

The site (the nearest bungalows) of the demolished Torrington Union Workhouse Chapel, as seen by Streetview in 2024. See also the Mortuary Chapels entry, above. SS 4863 1919.
