Christ Church on Scotland Road. SD 4989 7052. © Elaine Hindson. Another view, and the interior, both © John Balaam (2015). Link. The history page dates it to 1873, with an enlargement in 1901, and the tower added in 1908-9. Grade II listed.

Emmanuel Congregational Church on Hawk Street. This source says it was established circa 1884. More photos here, including an interior, and a 2022 Streetview provides another view. SD 5002 7063. © Elaine Hindson.

The Free Methodist Church on Kellet Road. Two more views - 1, 2. SD 5044 7016. All © Martin Richter (2023). The church also holds services in the nearby High School (2022 Streetview). SD 5038 7024. Church website. Another page advises that the congregation dates from 1995 (as an offshoot of the Lancaster congregation), though the present church building was only opened in 2022 (source). For a previous home, see the Pentecostal Church entry below.

The former Methodist Chapel on Lancaster Road was in use as a School of Dance and Theatre Arts when Elaine took her photo. Older O.S. maps label it as Wesleyan. SD 4979 7041. © Elaine Hindson. Added 2006 - the church is to be demolished for redevelopment (thanks to Peter Brophy). A Streetview shows that the site was redeveloped by 2009.

Our Lady of Lourdes (R.C.) on Kellet Road. The church website tells us that it was built in 1966-7, replacing a temporary building of 1926. Another view (2009 Streetview). SD 5022 7032. © Elaine Hindson.

Pentecostal Church on Hunter Street and Ramsden Street. SD 4983 7075. © Elaine Hindson. Another view, © Alan K. Taylor (1996). It's evident from the 2015 Streetview (zoom in to the sign by the door) that the building was home to the Free Methodist Church at that time.

The Plymouth (Exclusive) Brethren Meeting Room on Oakwood Way, off Kellet Road. SD 5070 7016. © Mike Marczynski (2023).

There used to be a Primitive Methodist Chapel on Mary Street, at SD 4971 7140. Pre-dating a map of 1891, it was still active in 1940, but had closed by 1947. Its site was seen by Streetview in 2009.
